So I caved in.
I started using a gmail account today. I picked it up so I could restart my freelance work.
I've been working as a freelance Graphic Designer on/off since graduating college eons ago. Never anything consistent. I'd get a job, pick up a freelance gig on the side for a month or so and then.... nothing. I'd go months on end with nothing. Its not because I'm a bad designer... at least... I don't think so. :D
Alot of it is "who you know". I work with a nice lady who gets a steady stream of work her way, but doesn't have half the skill I do. Yes. That was bragging. She talented, I can't deny that, but experience goes a very long way.
So I'm trying to restart my freelance work so I can keep a steady stream of work outside of, uh, work going. Times are tough, insurance is high, and cost of living keeps going by even though my company doesn't give its employees much in the way of raises.
I'm working on a new logo design and trying to rekindle my desire for creating. Its hard thing to do, especially when you crank out stuff(not always good stuff) on a daily basis. I want to grow as a designer, learn how to design websites , and get a bit richer by doing so.
This'll be my fortress of solitu... wait... design. A place where I can post my thoughts and designs. Hope you enjoy it and hope I can keep the ADD long enough to continue to post regularly. :D
